> The number of global remote teams is growing rapidly <

Team members, who work together from around the world mainly through e-mail, chat and videoconferencing, may never actually meet face to face for the entire duration of their project. They work in global remote teams to reduce costs, increase competitiveness and provide an answer to increased globalisation.

Many organisations, however, have found that the effectiveness of these teams varies greatly. Global remote teams may lack commitment to shared goal. Team members may lack trust and be torn between conflicting loyalties to local and global colleagues.

In our training and coaching interventions we focus on the following questions:

  • What are the main factors that influence the success of your global virtual team? And how can you make these factors work for you?
  • How do you deal with the influence of culture on the way team members establish and maintain virtual relationships?
  • How can different communication styles influence your choice of communication tools and the way you use these tools?
  • How can you establish and maintain trust between team members?
  • What intercultural competences do you need to manage the challenges of working remotely?

  • What are the best practices of the global remote teams of the Fortune500 companies?
  • How can you keep your global remote team from falling into destructive subgroups with conflicting priorities?

Based on our experience in working with remote teams in different cultural environments, we offer in-company workshops that can be combined with remote team coaching. For more information, please contact us at info@ibinet.nl
